about me

Biography
Landscape art is simple in essence, but when it is a memory, a place traveled, or a familiar set of color and composition it turns into something more. My goal in art is to create paintings that bring peace to the viewer and spark recollection of a moment or place. My style is semi-realism with a touch of folk art, creating pieces that attempt to replicate the stunning beauty of creation. I primarily use gouache and acrylic, with some dabbles of oil. The areas of the world that are subjects of my paintings are anywhere from local North Georgia to Western, Northern and Southern regions of the United States, and places like Canada, Iceland, Spain, Scotland and others! Only leaning into my passion for art a couple of years ago, I hope that this just the beginning of bringing memories to paper. My photographs too are just another way to capture a time and place. I also aim to help people see the immense value of spending time outside, hiking, and creating art and what that does for the soul. I paint where I hike, and I hope my simple art and quiet hikes help you slow down.
